Data & corrections

Where the facts on AppRanger app pages come from, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

Last updated

Where app facts come from

App facts are read from each app's public Google Play listing (United States store, English): developer, category, rating and number of ratings, number of downloads, price, in-app purchases and ads, content rating, and the date the developer last updated the app. Icons and screenshots come from the same listing.

Each app page shows the date we last checked the listing. If a store value changes after that date, the page shows the older value until the next check.

What we do not change

  • We show ratings and download numbers as Google Play lists them. We do not adjust, round up or estimate them.
  • We do not add our own star scores.
  • If a value is not on the listing, the page leaves it out instead of guessing.

App summaries

The summary on each app page describes what the app offers, who it is for, and when it is or is not a good fit, based on the app's official store listing. It is not a user review.

Report a wrong or outdated fact

Email trustedapp.help@gmail.com with:

  • the app name and the page link,
  • what is wrong and what it should say,
  • where we can check it, for example the app's Google Play listing.

We check the change against the official store listing and update the page. App developers can use the same address to request a correction or the removal of their app's icon or screenshots.
